KEITH McCULLOUGH
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Keith is our Navigator. He delves deep into the fabric of what occurs within the Global Marketplace and why. From a Global Macro and Market Strategy perspective, Keith's daily synthesis of critical facts will lead you to The Edge. Until the end of October 2007, Keith was a Partner, Portfolio Manager, and Managing Director at the Carlyle-Bluewave Partners hedge fund. Before that, he was a Portfolio Manager at Magnetar Capital; a Founder, Managing Partner and Co-PM at Falconhenge Partners, LLC; and Partner, EVP, and Portfolio Manager at Dawson Herman Capital Management. Keith graduated from Yale, where he also captained the Yale Hockey team. Retired from working for other people on Wall Street, Keith lives with his wife Laura and their son Jack.
MICHAEL BLUM
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Michael is our Backbone. He ensures that our Team is equipped for any environment. No one should go to The Edge in this Global Market without being prepared for any situation. Witness his upcoming flight to space on Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic, or his forming of our Asian office in Hong Kong, he lives on The Edge. Michael spent 7 years in Silicon Valley before moving into the financial services world. Having seen the DotCom boom and gloom, he knows a thing or two about building a business. Helping PayPal and eBay succeed in their international business expansion has contributed significantly to Michael’s frequent flyer accounts. Michael graduated from Yale.
BRIAN McGOUGH
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH
Brian is our Dynamo. He analyzes the most critical components of the system – the companies – and how they interact. Separating turbulence from Edge, he contextualizes our research with balance and structure. In leading our Research Team, Brian's bottom's up approach provides a new expression of the industry standard. Brian was Executive Director in Equity Research at Morgan Stanley leading the apparel and footwear research effort. In an earlier life, Brian was Director of Investor Relations at Nike (Get it? Footwear!). Brian also worked at Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney, and Copper Arch Capital, LLC over the course of his career. Brian is the only one on our team to have an MBA - he got it at Hofstra University - but we have decided not to hold that against him. He and his wife Regina have three children.
MICK MALISIC
VICE PRESIDENT, CREATIVE
Mick is our Virtuoso. He plays on The Edge of art and science. It takes a world class artist to reduce a Global Market's complexity to a platform of deep simplicity, and Mick's creativity has delivered just that. He started his career in the entertainment industry before undertaking a 4 year apprenticeship under frogdesign founder Dr. Hartmut Esslinger. After working for Esslinger, Mick guided the company's global marketing efforts, launching several initiatives, including the “Bottom Line Design Awards”, published by Business 2.0 magazine, where he acted as the Chairman for the competition and attracted an elite group of judges.
JEN KANE
DIRECTOR, CLIENT RELATIONS
Jen is our Client Advocate. She holds the firm's feet to the fire to ensure we create value for every client, every day. She's done global client services in the hallways of global banks, but has found her calling driving growth here at Hedgeye. Jen believes that the core of life-long relationships is the integrity of one's handshake, and Jen is that "hand" for Hedgeye. Jen graduated with honors in Economics from Colgate while captaining Colgate's Division I field hockey team. An accomplished equestrian, she and her husband Michael live in New York City.
FORREST CHANG
VICE PRESIDENT, ENGINEERING
Forrest is our Mad Scientist. With degrees from MIT and Johns Hopkins, Forrest lives and breathes high tech and loves building things. Forrest has worked a variety of settings: stealth mode startups, the R & D teams at small companies, and 100+ man-year projects at large organizations. Forrest lives on The Edge of software technology and process. He won 3 innovation awards while at BAE Systems (a major defense contractor), and has instituted best-in-class software processes at Hedgeye. Forrest also enjoys martial arts, making music and movies. Forrest leads our San Diego office and lives in California with his wife and 3 kids.
